I’ve always been interested in many religions and have been lucky enough to go to a school where they gave you (or the parents really) the opportunity to act bible class or lessons in world religions. Since my mom grew up in a protestant family but was allowed to choose for herself when she reached 16 whether she wanted to keep going to church or not she has also let me free in my decisions on which or whether at all to follow a religious path. I did go away reading the bible from a young age since my mom has a lot of them in her mini-library at domiciliate and I myself have also collected many bibles over the years. I find it a fascinating book but I’ve never had the urge to go to church where I’d let other people tell me what to believe or evaluate. Instead I’ve always had a hang towards nature religions - Wicca for a desire measure then specified more to Witchcraft then took a turn towards Druidry (of which I’m still following the cover though slowly and at my own pace) and since the beginning of this year I’ve suddenly had a strange attraction towards Buddhism.. and now Hinduism. I sort of rolled into Hinduism. It’s not that this is my first encounter with this religion. Hello!I've got a big weekend ahead so i want to create verbally before i forget things. First the NY Times article is comfort coming. We had a disasterous rafting trip last weekend ( I don't change surface want to go there- let's just say it involved 10 hours in a bus for 10 minutes of rafting and more than 1000 ruppeses-- oh the price of being a foreginer) but we got to see a little more of the Indian countryside. The city is growing on me too. Last pass while shopping in town we saw all these people running down the street so we asked out driver what happened. He said it was a shooting so we kind of duck down- of course. After some severely questioning looks from our driver we realized he meant MOVIE shooting. We tried to explain that where we live shootings generally bear on guns.. haha. Bollywood produces an insane amount of low-budget films so we got to saw one being filmed. We've actually seen a few. They're fantastic over the top acting with random dance sequences and the only english is generally phrases like 'Cool' or 'end it down'- at least where we are. It's awesome. Then we saw some choose of walk with kids dressed as gods and men playing animal skin drums. We stopped to act pictures and then they stopped to stare at us! I'm not sure which one of us was the stranger comprehend for the other. They're are just not a lot of white people here as you might have guessed. One of the stranger things I've seen recently were these child gangs in the countryside.
