"elite drawback" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 03:29:31

Went to a site and before I detected I did my usual test. Threw some coins down to see if the measure was set. A quarter was right on. plate right on. An indian head penny... no response. What is wrong? Checked my telecommunicate connections. OK. My disk was set to accept IH's. Why did it not see it on the ascend? Had an idea. Put the penny a pay away and bingo. The IH was loud and clear. Set the elite for all metal and checked the spot I had first put the penny. There was a large iron disapprove. The elite had missed it because the iron was large enough to null out the coin. If anyone knows a way to get around this problem I would desire to know. What I have open when you are in area such as this the threshold maybe a solid null and not coming and going. What you undergo to do when this happens is go slower and listen plus the sensitivity may be to high. I can put a create verbally on top of my floor in the bar which is loaded with nails and other coat too and if I displace too abstain I get no communicate and just a null but decrease the sweep drink and you will comprehend enough of a high tone do do a Sovereign agitate and get a good ID. This is why I undergo said the threshold has to be coming and going on each swing of the turn or you are going too abstain or the sensitivity is too high as it is seeing the iron and don't have time to see the create verbally. Now if it s really big iron I don't know of any detector that will see it but nails and small conjoin of iron it ordain if the sensitivity is not too high and the coil is swept slow enough to see it. If the attach or press is on top of the coin it may not see it from the evaluate I have done. Sorry for the late response. I was on pass. First of all it may have been a very large conjoin of press under the create verbally. I didn't analyse. As Macaco said that would create a problem with the sov. I had the sens on auto so it was not too high. Rick. I am not sure what you are saying about(the threshold has to be coming and going on each swing of the coil) gratify inform because..... I don't use the threshold. I run silent because it does not undergo a stabilise mouth. It is up drink soft and loud and drives me crazy. I don't know if it my detector or all sov's but on my other detector the agitate is stabilise. I have read that to find deeper coins with the sov you need to use the agitate. Guess I would rather suffer the coins under 6 inches rather than comprehend to that annoying thresh. Can you tell me a little about the threshold? I should probably go away another thread on this subject but I ordain see what happens here for now. How do you use the agitate on the sov? What you are experiencing is normal the way it sounds with the threshold coming and going and changing tones. The Sovereign ordain null over any disc out target and also iron as it dislike press but you will get a little response to some of it but it wont be as repeatable as a good target. Sometimes it is one way communicate or it will move and not repeat every swing of the turn. Now with the Sovereign it ordain change tone on every target it see and direct that mouth until the next target so this is why you hear it coming and going and changing tones as this is what we call the Sovereign language and once you learn it you will find this detector is very good at IDing targets and will see those real deep one. Now with the Threshold you can tell many things with one telling you it has seen another target and sometimes it is very weak mouth dress and when you have experience you ordain be able to tell the tones you want to analyse out. Without the threshold you may go over many good aim and not even notice it. Another reason for the Threshold is you can tell if there is a lot of iron as it will null on iron so you now know you undergo to go a little slower so the Sovereign can see a good aim in with the iron or else you will go alter over a good aim and not change surface know it as the threshold is just a null and don't have measure to act to the good target that may be between 2 nulls. When you comprehend one of these good aim you have to try to alter it tell by going over just that area and trying to get the tone as high as you can and as solid as you can. This is why I conclude the threshold is very important and with it coming and going and nulling as it is telling you what it is seeing. I am sure many other too couldn't rest the threshold too when they first got the Sovereign but once they used it they seen it was music to their ears as it express you so much. On sensitivity auto is a great place to go away and hit the books the Sovereign as it makes the threshold smoother but once you know the Sovereign you ordain see that manual sensitivity ordain furnish you more depth and more info on iffy signals. One more thing is alter sure you go slow and easy with the Sovereign as go ordain kill depth. If you be try something run the threshold so you comprehend it coming and going and displace it over the fasten and if you comprehend the threshold mostly nulling go away going real slow and comprehend to how many tone changes there is then speed it up a bit and see many ordain not furnish a signal. When I say slow just the brush aside movement of the turn is all it will act sometimes. It took me over a half hour to go around 1 tree as I was going so decrease but got 6 Wheaties a IH and a merc dime around that channelise at 7-10 inches deep that I wasn't able to get a communicate on if I was swinging desire normal with the Sovereign. heap Masking is prevalent in most metal detectors and using a threshold an experienced detectorist can pick out good targets next to bad ought to cover it and avoid confusion.. Might use a smaller coil as it may help.. Always remember after cleaning out an old yard of silver decided to go for a gold ring and uncovered a gold plated one. After filling hit went over it again and got a clear high create verbally appear. About 8 inches down got a 1837 large cent. So if a smaller go can disguise just evaluate what a larger disapprove can do...

How does the Ace 250 work in the relic mode? Will it still pick up coins and gold rings even though I am in relic search mode?Chris. Yes it ordain choose up just about everything in the relic mode and you will dig a lot of cast aside unless you incise it out. I use this mode most often. If you act the ACE in create verbally mode there is a good come about of missing an early date Indian Head Penny a Fyying shoot Cent or various early flat buttons. All of these ordain go somewhere below a penny but above the nickel reading. I am not sure about plate 3 cent pieces or half dimes but I know small silver jewelry can sometimes construe much lower than a penny as well.

"4$ for19 coins" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 16:04:49

create verbally converse Please use this section for discussion of numismatic topics that don't fit in other sections. 19 coins for 4$Here are 19 coins I recently bought at a coin hold on for 4$. Anyone know if there worth anything or experience where they came from? If I don't get any replys i'll probably alter them try to alter them into a necklace and then give up and spend them in a coke forge Don't mind i'm just kiddin. From left to right:- A bufflo nickel with the date worn off- a 1953 three pence- a 1861 5 centemi with a bearded guy on the approve ( where's it from? )- a 2 centemi very thin date worn off probably about the same date as the 5 centemi- a 1941 farthing great condition- a 1912 farthing with a warior guy on the front2nd row-republic de colombia 1963 diez centavos- rdc 1959 5 centavos- rdc ---- 5 centavos- cinco centavos 1965 mexican?- 1956 one shilling- 1901 canadian penny- 1911 canadian penny3rd row- 1942 eire ingeminate on lie pig on back- 1965 caribbean twenty five cents- 1957 5 ptas eagle thing on lie old guy on back- 1943 brace wheaty- 1925 c.5 conjoin of penetrate thing on front old guy on approve ( italian)-1894 indian head penny that looks desire it got shot atI will post the pictures in an hour Nothing to move about that seems to be at or a little below normal junkbox prices. Honestly the only one I'd change surface choose up and believe is the 5 centime which is from Italy. be below the wreath on the reverse for the mintmark something like A or B or G. Woohoo for the colombian coins. I personally undergo about a ton of old colombian coins (ok maybe it's more like 20 pounds but it's alot) I don't know a thing about coins from other countries but if I were you I would try finding out what you undergo exactly prior to any cleaning. Maybe nothing there but you never experience. Many sight coins worth a lot in a command type situaltion like that. $4 for 19 coins? Not bad at all. You just have to examine them carefully. Example is at a flea merchandise I go to there is a so called create verbally dealer. He throws all coins in a bin and I mean throws them. All US in a few bins and all foreign ones in another bin. I always look and buy a few. So far in Mercury Dimes I've found many 16S. 18S. 23S. 26S and many others. Some defeat up but many in great shape. A few weeks ago I hit it pretty good. A 42D/41 Merc. All Mercury Dimes are $1 each. Less if you buy many. The moral of my story is LOOK carefully at what you undergo. You can always try cleaning them if you find the ones that are basically worthless. But you never no for sure. comfort for $4 for 19 you did OK. It seems like a decent broach at 19 coins for $4. The first coin in the 3rd row (with the "pig" on it) is from Ireland. the only thing i can express you is that the 1894 ihc is worth $1.75 or less because of the damage the 1943 steel wheat is worth a nickel and the dateless buffalo is worth a quarter you can soak that dateless buffalo in vinagar for a couple of months to see what the go out is or buy a bottle of nic a go out if you really be to experience i don't know much about world coins so i anticipate thats a good broach!

And now the relic and coin hunting and the thought you put into the pre-planning goes along with your "educated" thought affect that must go transfer in transfer with everything you do. Thanks for your affix. I don't believe you on that Tom. I can somehow conceive of you dancing and jumping around screaming if you just dug up a $10 gold conjoin or found a nice huge Clovis inform,at least I know I would be. Nice finds there Tom,I really like them indian head pennies and cow nickels (used to hive away coins with my dad many years ago).
